Scrum Talk Daily - # 13
Scrum Events # 3 - Daily Scrum

The purpose of the Daily Scrum is to inspect progress toward the Sprint Goal and adapt the Sprint Backlog as necessary, adjusting the upcoming planned work. It can improve communications, identify impediments, promote quick decision-making, and consequently eliminate the need for other meetings.

The Developers can select whatever structure and techniques they want, as long as their Daily Scrum focuses on progress toward the Sprint Goal and produces an actionable plan for the next day of work.

The Daily Scrum is 15 minutes or less.

A day's plan? Remember, back in Sprint Planning, the Developers themselves broke down Product Backlog items into work items of one day or less...

Why so small? What benefit is there to break down the large items into a day or less, then meet every day to discuss that day's plan? Who runs that meeting? Is the Daily Scrum a formal meeting? What does Daily Scrum look like if the team is on track? What do your Daily Scrums look like?
